Cold touch
I was happy to hear that a visitor left the gallery quite disturbed by the clinical coldness of this painting. Idea came from the insectocutor being an attractive light to moths and the like, with the cold air blowing the ribbons to touch it. The chance contact of two objects like humans can be dangerous. I imagined this still life in a mortuary.
